Update

Danny's initial edit is coming along on schedule and we are making plans for the release. Lord willing, we plan to release Fayre Tales: The Rose Born on or around July 11th. More details to come as we figure them out.

I know I haven't been blogging as much as I probably should lately, but I have a real good excuse this time: I've been writing! I've managed to carve out some writing time between when Cay finishes his school work and when Danny comes home and with only a few exceptions it's been working pretty well.

My goals are 500 words per day, five days a week, and 3000 words per week. Yes, I know 5x500 does not equal 3000. I try to squeeze in an extra 500 throughout the week. I am trying to get the third book done before the first one is released, that way I can make sure there are no continuity problems and I can move on to Tully & Rourke over the summer.

I'm very proud of myself this week, I exceeded my weekly goal by 39 words on Tuesday! I have 4253 words so far. I'm gonna try for 5000 words this week, so that's only 747 to go. Wish me luck!

More Editing

I finally convinced my husband, Danny, to do a preliminary edit of the first Fayre Tales book. It took less threatening than I had anticipated. A simple here it is, do it now, was all. I now have two chapters lovingly marked up in red pen.

I have also managed to squeeze in almost four hours of writing yesterday and today, between Cay finishing his school and Danny getting home from work. It's not a lot, but I'm happy getting at least 500 words in a day.

Last night I started reading through the Second Fayre Tales book that I just finished writing. It's strange going back through and barely remembering writing what's on the page. With the first book I was constantly going back and re-reading it all the way through, but I didn't do that with this one. It was nice being able to see it with fresh eyes and I was pleasantly surprised with my own writing.

I'm writing book three of the trilogy now. I'm on the final leg of the race. Yeah!

First Revision of Fayre Tales One is Done!!!

What an AWESOME feeling!

It's not ready for release yet, I still have some sections highlighted to beef up a bit and a few more brutal edits to perform, but I am now one step closer. For someone who never believed she could finish a first draft at all, I am so proud!

All of my life I have resigned myself to the "fact" that I'm just not someone who finishes things, I'm a starter, an idea girl. But not any more, welcome to the new me in 2009!

I have such an amazing group of friends supporting and encouraging me in both "real life" and Twitter, if I don't finish this book I EXPECT you all to hunt me down and make me.

And a bonus, I've finally decided on a subtitle. Fayre Tales book One is now Fayre Tales: The Rose Born.

Do you like?

Icing on the cake: Tonight is date-night, possibly the first ever since we got married. Is that perfect timing or what?
